Welcome, Students! Congratulations on your plan to become a U.S. citizen! Get ready for the Citizenship Test and Interview.

Citizenship helps keep you safe, provides you with more job opportunities, and allows you to vote in our democracy. Simply put, citizenship helps keep equality possible.

In this course, you will learn all you need to know to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship and naturalization interview. The course is broken down into five units:

  • Unit 1: Understanding Steps to Citizenship (eligibility, N-400 application process, resources)
  • Unit 2: Civics, American Government and History Practice (Many resources)
  • Unit 3: Reading, writing and listening practice 
  • Unit 4: N-400 Interview terminology and Interview Practice (After we study, you will have a practice interview and you will take a Government and History Listening Test)
  • Unit 5: Final Steps: After submitting your N-400 application https://www.uscis.gov/n-400 and going through the background check (Biometrics), you will be given an Interview Date. You will then be interviewed and…hopefully…you will become a Citizen

 

Class Timing:

Many students prefer to meet online. We will schedule a weekly Zoom meeting (45 min- 1 hour) for one-on-one lessons over video meetings. For Zoom class, you need a working email account and you must reply to emails, to communicate with your teacher. It is easier to study via Zoom meeting if you have a computer. You can borrow a Chromebook from the main office if needed.

In-Person Classes (123 Edgemont, Room 208)

Wednesdays 9:15a-1:15p

On Wednesdays, class is held at the school for students who prefer live instruction. 

Online Availability:

  • Mondays 9a-1p
  • Tuesdays 9a-1p
  • Thursdays 9a-1p

*If scheduling is a conflict and we are unable to meet at a specific weekly time via Zoom, I will support your learning in a self-paced online course via USA Learns - Citizenship.
