Educational Support Career Program

Program Overview:
This two-course program prepares students to work with children in school settings. In the first course, students learn about child development from birth to age 12, explore diversity, and understand school roles and professional behavior. The second course focuses on safety, including first aid, CPR, emergency procedures, and student support. Hands-on activities, guest speakers, and classroom practice help students gain real-world experience.

Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist  

Start your career as a Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist.  Jefferson Adult Education in partnership with Futuro Health is now offering FREE training to become a Peer Support Specialist.  Peer Support Specialists often work in behavioral health or addiction treatment, providing non-clinical support and advocacy to individuals experiencing similar challenges, fostering recovery through shared experiences and resources.

**Applicants must be at least 18 years old, English level is intermediate or advanced and have lived experience with the recovery process from mental health, substance use disorder, or other significant trauma.**

Computer Basics 1

This class is for adults who are just starting with computers. You will learn about the parts of a computer and how they work together. You will also learn how to use programs like Microsoft Word and Google Docs. By the end, you will feel comfortable using a computer, making documents, sending emails, and searching the internet. It's a great way to get started with technology!

Instruction for this class uses Microsoft Office Suite for Windows 11. ESL students should be Intermediate- Advanced level. Learn and transfer skills directly into the workplace or for lifelong learning opportunities. Leave with a desire to continue learning with the tools necessary to succeed.
